Rapier External Sounder

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

You may remember a previous topic of mine when i was trying to identify what sounder i had found on the wall of a family business site and the trouble i had when i accidently set it off

A few of you advised me to rip it down (as i cannot get to the screws due to a drain pipe) and replace it but so far i have just left it just as it is.

My question now is i am going to rip it down today for a closer look and just wanted to know if anyone knew if it has a back wall tamper? As i want to know what to expect if i rip it off :fear:

Its not connected to anything on the panel end so it wont be losing any connections when i rip it off.

Once i have it off the wall i should be able to get inside it out of curiousity. B)

cheers guys,

Ranger

EDIT: Here is the picture i included in the original post:

The above is my personal opinion and not that of my employer or anyone else.

Thanks for the reply but does it have a back wall tamper?

As i know the battery (last time i checked) has charge and it might be a SAB. :fear:

Should have a 2.1Ah battery inside, and yes shall be back tampered.

I once blew a fuse on a 9100 putting the lid back on ( the aux got trapped in lid ). The job was a small national news agents and it had one of those sounders above the cig counter.

The battery kicked in after power loss and shop was full of people, Man thay are loud when in a small area. I could not stop it until i removed the lid and replaced the fuse :fear:

:P Indeed they are loud, bet the people were pleased  B)

Thanks for all your replies, and thanks for the tip with the screwdriver bit but the screws are rusted and very tight.

Stupid drain pipes :bruce_h4h:

I am off to do it now so we shall see what we shall see. Ill try the screwdriver bit first as a last attempt for curiosity.

cheers for that guys.
