Help with locks needed

Featured Replies

Does anybody deal with door locks on this site?

I am looking for a lock for a front door that requires a combination to open it. The door in question opens outwards rather than inwards.

The lock is required for a disabled person who cannot manage to turn a key in a lock. Home Care workers visit the house a number of times during the day but are not allowed to have a key to the property - rules of the local Council. Consequently somebody has to be at the house to allow the Care workers access.

Illness to the disabled person's husband has shown up this problem - normally he would be there but has recently had to go into hospital.

If some form of combination lock was installed this would seem to overcome the problem.

Does anybody have any suggestions and, importantly, any idea of costs?

Simon

Try a digilock.

Look on www.screwfix.com and type in product code 17415 or 34272.

Either of these will probably do what you want.

If you have the catalogue (Number 72) they are on page 132.

I am not recomending Screwfix specifically as there are many other outlets too.

We have done a number of systems for disabled people using electronic lock release or maglock and a Visonic h/h transmitter.

The occupier can operate the door from any where within the property.

Pete

Thanks for your help.

Purchased a Digilock from Screwfix which does the job well.

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to all.
