  1. I am trying to install a risk Iwise RK815DTG3 sensor onto a honeywell galaxy flex panel.

The anitmasking mentions 12K resistor, which is selectable on the risco sensor, but this seems to be a combined fault and antimask.

The wiring diagram in the flex manual shows the as separate switches - one for the fault (3K resistor) and one for the anti-mask (12K).

Any ideas of how I wire this.

  2. Thanks for the responses. Seems to be a bit of a mixed picture in terms of the hikivision.

Looking in the same price area then I saw that there is also a brand called Dahau, which I think is a Chinese company similar to hikivision.

I also saw a brand called vivotek. So not sure if anyone has used these.

The axis seem to be a very good brand but cost is to high for me.

Another choice could be a samsung tech win. Any ideas?

  3. Was looking to buy a IP CCTV camera and wanted some advice on a good make and model.

Would like to have a PoE and be able to stream in real time to an iPad or Mac.

Also would like an external camera with night vision capability.

Was thinking around £200 or so for each camera.

So was thinking about the hikivision or may be samsung.

    Any views and ideas?

  4. I have a galaxy flex panel and want to add wireless to it.

I understand I can use both the Galaxy Flex Direct Mount RF Portal (A073-00-01) and also the C079-2 (RF portal in plastic housing).

Is there any advantage/disadvantage between them?

I assume that I could still use the C079-2 if I upgrade my current panel to a galaxy dimension? Also I assume that the C079-2 can be located away from the main panel and so would be able to locate it to get the best signal?

  5. Thanks for the advice. Will use Cat5 cable. I take from the comments I should use stranded rather than solid copper cable? Was also thinking about using the Cat5 cable to install some security cameras, so assume should external grade cable? Would be good just to get a 100m real so can do the lot.

  6. It is to connect a honeywell touch screen to a honeywell alarm panel. There is a 485 bus connector on the panel. I think 485 is called EIA-485 now and seems to be 4 core screened pair cable.
