what sort of distance are we talking to these two domes?
I have had issues in the past with other equipment when up coax.. distance quite far and signal drops when also sending telemetry signals too...
-
I have no experience with the kit, but...
Have you tried swapping a good and bad one to see if the fault follows or stays?
-
its up to you at the end of the day. they arent ripping you off, its a fair enough price. you could always get another quote from another co to compare.
its worth paying a pro to ensure its done properly, with a hell of a lot more ease than doing it yourself.

300 plus vat is a little high for our area but still not too bad.
do you know what panel they would be fitting?
-
we keep top copy. original stands up in court better.
-
Security warehouse do a good hd set up.
The stuff we use isn't available off the shelf I don't think, not unless adi sell to punters for cash still.
-
You could always use a tv modulator if you have aerial sockets by the TVs or if they are smart tvs could the network be used to view all cameras from one DVR?
-
yes this is exactly the problem I was having with a particular site - unable to access from the lan, but okay on the wan
is this always called loopback or different terminology for different brands?
-
Technicolour are a heap of ***** but I've never had one that didn't work first time.
I've noticed there's quite a few routers now with the loopback blocking turned on.
could you explain loopback? it sounds like a few problems ive been having.
and also.. do all you guys supply your own router when networking a dvr? a known, easy to set up router thats already configured before it leaves the office.

what about a single bloke, built like a brick.
does he get flowers?

I need to get one to have a play, I am just going on what the engineer has told me.
-
Agreed, the Lightsys 2 does seem OK and value for money, with all the grief from the Agility 3, I a little worried about the newest version being release around October when they include the Camera/PIR, too old to program myself any longer, but some of my engineers say a little querky on the programming, but that`s what you get used too
agreed, and completely different way of programming to any other panel.
a simple task like turning the chime on is not that simple

I wasnt sure how much windows needed, I couldnt find the answer anywhere. So thats why I posted a thread in here to ask people that know more about it than I do.
I assume I can link the sd memory to the tablet memory so in effect giving the tablet a 96gb memory?
-
Following on from a recent topic where the tablet took over....
To those of you who are on the toshiba bandwagon, out the box was your hard drive only left with a few gig?
ive installed nothing except windows security updates, but have no hard drive space to install office which is supposed to be preinstalled. I have a 64gb micro sd card coming but wondering its normal?
-
Ta, first up we shouldn't of sold it to you, secondary I shouldn't of answered
You arent to know whos buying the equipment though?
-
What do you get if you meter between any aux positive and T?
-
Can never understand a word honeywell tech are saying... "alright there buddy".... is one lads favourite saying. But found them pretty knowledgable.
risco tech are good, though like all other manufacturers, you soon get to know who is a waste of time.
-
Would be good to know signal strengths are going to be okay before installation. Can play around with locations rather than the eng wasting time on the day.
-
I have had one faulty 490 panel, one faulty wireless bell (cant remember the model), a couple of contacts that eat batteries and a pir that didnt go to sleep.
AP, do you have a risco survey kit? I am told they dont do one so I was toying with the idea of making my own.
-
We have a pretty big estate of 490x and 600/601. 2 agility and 1 lightsys which went in last week.
I like risco and have always said this. We are going to be moving across to lightsys for new installations in domestics.
