Hmm might look at the Genie one as we do fit a bit of their kit, nvms 1000?

As this is in the design stage ive got a few options as i see, Mielstone type software, two 32 way NVR's (think HIK do a 64ch unit now?) Other than Milestone, is there any other PC based software to consider?

remote enough, not to probably have decent speed for a few years id say (no 3G even)! So we thinking the best way would be as i said above, own line and router for remote viewing? I really dont fancy jabbing it on their office connection as i dont want the mither of any issues it may create as it grows.

1.3's i think we're going for Was hoping to cat 5 each camera back to the switch. There is another outbuilding which we were going to link via fibre. However not sure if the cams would be better in cat 6....

yeah theres a bit to think about here, never had more than 32 IPC on one site before so needs to be planned correctly
  7. So we have a site that will start off with around 30 network cameras but in the next year or two will probably grow, maybe to around 60 As the site is quite remote, they have **** BB, no fibre there. I'm worried about how much bandwidth having all the cameras on his network will eat up. I'm thinking it would be better to wire the cameras as its own network, and potentially have it on its own dedicated line/router as he wants remote access. Sound like a plan? or is there anything else to consider?
  8. Galaxy are brilliant on SIA 3, not so sold on texe though it could be our ARC, but it doesn't come though as "logical" as a Galaxy imo, and sisnt seem to send as much information, even though SIA 2 and the T was enabled. I'm going to set one up on the bench for a proper play
  9. We have a fair bit! Think of one 2500 with a good 70+ biscuits at a guess
  10. not too bad then. Not something ive had to do tbh, but handy to know,
  11. how messy is that though at the camera end? Ie how big is the converter?
  12. not had any issues personally at that distance. Sometimes on a longer run we may supplement it with a .75 flex, but its rare
  13. CCA Basically its ****, and gives a much higher resistance than standard copper cable. Measure the resistance on the runs, you'll be surprised (maybe) We tend to fire the video down a twisted pair (browns), then power down the two others. So thats the blues twisted together, and the oranges.

Any modification to the supply side would/should need a minor works.

nope You done need to be qualified to be an electrician, just competent. Under the scope of competent, the only way to "prove" you are, would be works done follows 7671. So thats where all the paperwork comes from.
  16. Receiver no or account no all removed? And you 100% should not have the powers connected together.
  17. christ! Wish we had the time, that's epic!
  18. Change the output of the panel to detector reset. Then connect the 0v of your viper to it. This will power cycle the unit every time you set the alarm, thus clearing the led. In the book of words
  19. For me there's too many grey areas at the mo, and bits can be down to interpretation . There needs to be a pocket guide type of thing for normal goons like me on the tools, and a revision at every update, what's changed and why...... I'd pay for sure, would others? depends on them i suppose. An electrical one was under £20 off memory. For something to refer back to whilst on site, would be handy.
  20. Plain English for regs? 100% yes as an engineer!
  21. If the panel is 3 years old you might have compatibility issues, you've only been able to add a portal in the last few years
