You can find the engineer code within 2 minutes but clearly whoever installed the alarm has changed that default code
anyway this site has given me no useful answers
so I'll be withdrawing from it
very disappointing
The useful answer was already given below in red

Can you see the potential problem if it was not changed...?
This is an obsolete system prone to sudden failure. I have replaced many, usually they fail at 3am with sirens blazing, or perhaps during a holiday.
The solution is to default the system, though not the best one. We don't give that information out on here, you would rightly be very annoyed if a burglar could simply log in here and gain access to your system, surely?

I don't know these panels, But why can't you scroll back through the event log to see whats it shows prior to power outage and when the engineer arrives.

you can but that's per channel audio. Ive done it using the audio out and a powered horn, but wont work well with an arc afaik
We have done this on a monitored site and had to tell the arc which cameras had the horns. We had 6 cameras in a rectangle car compound with a horn on every other camera.

We have had ptz, brackets, domes and bell covers spray to certain colours. We take them to a car body shop and they come back very good.

Ok. is it just on one dome or can you swap locations with another dome.

Are you leaving the iris button on all the time?
Sounds like may need to go back for repair then?
-
Is the auto iris button on when you move the joystick? as presets may of been saved with it on.

We have had this on domes in the sun for long periods. The vantage ones which were in for about 6-7 year were the worst ones I have seen.

does the keypad look like a bar of soap?
If so could be an old DA rebel.

Not good.
Our troublesome unit is constantly crashing. "Abnormal shutdown" in the log.
Majority of the time is linked to a remote playback log in from the customers ipad2 at pretty much exactly the same time. ADI have reported to hik, see where we get.
If we have issues we phone HIK direct now as they have a local number and based in berkshire.
We have had no trouble with HIK, fitted one of their IP PTZ's last week, well impressed
We have fited some of these with the 150m IR leds and I was impressed with the night vision.

We fit the takex ones.

Are there any error messages being shown?
I connected my laptop to an spro plus 2 dvr to read the log in detail. As our unit was rebooting randomly and showed loads of errors which pointed towards the hard drive.

VW SWB Transporter 100ps. Very nice van but only average 33 mpg. Due to adblue the diesel tank is 15 litres smaller so only do 350/380 out of a tank. Nearly 1.5 years old and only put 15k on it from new.
