DM Sprite

Anyone know how to get dm internal files off, and back onto new drive?? Have an old out of warranty unit with big hard drive problems.

you could network the sprite and the new hd and do a striaght copy maybe?
If you don't know......ask.

:P well steve, this is dm,s secret, ive tried and succeeded once, its a bit long winded so is it really worth it, i take it that your sprites in several bits at the moment lying in some corner of your office, well just box it up and send it to dm cos you know they will do you a good deal on a repair.

Are you having BIG problems with hard drive or problem with BIG hard drive >120GB ??

I assume they dont use any windows recognisable filesystem then?

its not windows format but it can be read using hard drive recovery tools

get a SCSI card for your PC and norton Ghost, copy old one to new drive and install, also make a back up just in case it goes pear shaped.

why use a scsi card, the hdd is ide

Must be a old DM unit if its IDE, take it out put it in your pc, copy it with norton ghost

All the DS2's and BX's that i've looked inside have had ide hard drives

Probably because the connector on the rear of the unit is a SCSI type?
