Does anyone have any recommendations.

I guess it's one of those things that gets forgotten about but in the past had a few situations where it would be a big help. (colleagues not labeling cables) :realmad:

OP is on about telecoms type tone tracer?

if you want to trace mains services underground you'd use a c scope maybe with the tone tracer cost £1k ish (or rent from a hire shop)
I'm happy, hope your happy too

Sorry if I'm just being thick, but doesn't http://cpc.farnell.c...=cpc/509573.xml include http://cpc.farnell.c...equestid=157365 for about 7 pounds less?

I realise it's unbranded, but it's quite obviously the same unit.

I aint got one like that but guess the tone generator is built in the dmm. Might be ok if you dont need your meter calibrated.

I know of one Iso company who just used to buy in cheapo MM with certs and leave them on the stores shelf for audit, all the engineers just used the old meters they always had.
