Hi, I'm new here, but really hoping you can help.

We've recently moved into our house. The alarm system was working fine, (veritas 8) until the decorator sliced through a wire to a sensor yesterday. I have soldered the damaged wires back together and insulated correctly. (auto electrician).

Now when I try to set the alarm, it bleeps fast 4 times and then again and again, and I have noticed none of the sensors illuminate even when the system is in the reset mode.

I thought it indicated an open curcuit, so omitted zone 4, went down to 3 beeps, etc etc.

Does it need resetting or something? I have no manuals for it and am new to the area. Any help would be much appreciated.

Do the PIRs still flash when you walk in front in front of them - if they dont you may have blown the auxillary fuse inside the control panel ....

No they don't. I'll have a look. The main 'box' has a green light lit up, so I assumed all was ok in there. Probably wrong thing to do! :whistle:
