Screened Cable

Featured Replies

i've recently ran in screened cable for an alarm system. To stop the induction where do the screens get connected to back at the panel? I'm installing a melcom st 6100.

thanks in advance

scott

Connect the shield at the panel end only.

Connect them to earth.

If you don't know......ask.

Connect all screens to a suitable earthed point within the panel only.

Also, unless you really really have to fit it, swerve the Melcom. Kind of daft using screened cables then connecting them all to a rather poor panel.

Look for a Texecom Veritas for a decent user friendly DIY panel.
