October 7, 200520 yr comment_71269 Hi, I have a Texecom Veritas Excel (metal) with a Texecom Speech and Text dialer (dialler is not yet installed). As the PCB is hidden in a cupboard and a phone socket is reasonably nearby i was going to mount the dialler in the same location and get a remote microphone unit (rmu) to assist in listening in if the alarm should activate. Firstly do i need a RMU? and if so can anyone recommend one? Any other advice on where to fit it would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. October 8, 200520 yr comment_71322 There have been a few posts about 'listening in', what do you think you will hear? Unless you disable the internal sounder all you will hear is that! You can use the outputs on the dialler to activate a relay in line with the sounder, but even if you do go to all that trouble what difference will what you hear make to your response? I bet you'll still rush home no matter what. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not) Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/7727-which-remote-microphone-unit-rmu/#findComment-71322 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
