SL Compact service bleeps

Featured Replies

Hi all first post, thanks for having me.

Got an SL compact, had it for 5 years with no problems. The other day the remote panel started to make a single bleep every 5 mins.

I have done some reading on the forum and have found its because the system is saying it wants a service.....is this correct??

Any one now how I can stop the panel from bleeping (apart from calling in a service guy)....cant afford a service this month.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Fair comment.............but from my poking around there is no battery in the control box or the remote panel.

And as for the tamper light....there is no light flashing, only the power & day lights on....and the panel does bleep, once every 5 mins.

That does sound very much like a smoke detector.

Got caught out years ago now,if the panel is in the same room as a smoke detector remove the detectors battery for 15 mins to be completely sure!as I'm sure richl knows it can catch you out!!!!
