Veritas 8R Extra internal sounder

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've just updated my alarm to a Texecom Veritas 8R. + Associated External Bell Box

System is working great but the Alarm Bell / Sounder isn't as load as my previous alarm. The old model had an internal sounder (phoenix Piezo) and I

Because its a speaker not a sounder connect it to your appropiate terminals in the control panel marked LS- and LS+.

I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

Thanks for the reply

However it is a sounder. It has very high resistance between red and black and as I say it does give a loud Warble when connected to 12 volts DC.

Maybe its trying to draw too much current as it's an old model.

Its a sound bomb then.

I doubt its the current coz it blow the fuse if it was.

I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

When the "sound bomb" is connected and the alarm is inactive it ticks (Squeals).

I am guessing that it has a slight voltage through it.

Now after further tests when the alarm is activated it sounds off with the external one. then when the alarm is reset the ticking stops.

So...

Is this fixed :o)

I think a new internal sounder may be the only answer, but I'll leave this on for a while to see what happens. Thanks for your time Adi

When all is well come back and lets us know how you got on.

I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

-- For info --

Replaced the old sound bomb with a new one.

This has fixed the problem.

My guess is the old version ( >15 yrs) is mainly composed of discrete components ie: transistors, diodes and capacitors etc and the new one is solid state.

Who knows, but if I'd known how inexpensive these things are I

Nice one mate. Thats just what we want, happy people.

I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.
