It looks like you chaps get lots of questions about these systems but I was hoping you could help me out.

I have just moved to a new house which had an accenta 8 alarm fitted when new.

I havent accually set it yet as it appears to have a fault. There is a random beep/chirp etc from the box mounted on the wall outside. No pattern to the freqency of the beeps, sometimes goes all day then dissapears for a few days.

I have a large white box with a red power led(lit) and no buttons fitted to the airing cuboard. There is also a keypad fitted by an exit door with 8 zone leds (none lit) a power & day led(both lit.

I have pressed the reset on the key pad but to change.

In common with others the installer is unreachable and may have gone out of bussiness. The company was Specialised Projects Services, Newport, South Wales.

Any clues what the problem might be? or does anyone know of a reputable repair company in my area?.

It sounds like there is a fault with the external box, or it could be a loose connection somewhere in the wiring. Either way, it would be advisable to get it serviced as you don't know the history of the system.

No problem with that as its probably beyond me anyhow. does anyone know a good firm in south wales?
