Went to visit my uncle in Essex yesterday - he is looking for a wireless solution for his house in the country. He has had 2 quotes so far, one quoted for a Powermax (but no external sounder), and the other for a FM technologies panel (which I have not come across).

It does have to be wireless (bungalow with laminate flooring and a flat roof throughout), I can't see any way of running the cables, and neither could the other two who quoted. I can't do the job as I don't fancy a 3 hour drive for site visits! (And I am immigrationg tomorrow...).

Is there anyone in the area whose details I can pass on? Preferably someone happy with wireless (Class 6 of course...)

Try Anglian alarms Ipswich, they are NSI.

By the way how did you get the immigration ticket? setting up own bussiness or relatives already there?.Paul.

Just to be cheeky can we ask what the other quotes have come in at.... be interesting to know what others are charging for wirless kit.

Your uncle must be a star, you've been around all this time and now your off he wants an alarm fitting!!! Honestly!!

Yeah Maverick - I know what you mean!!

Quotes came in at £800 for the Visonic, and £1200 for the FM Technologies. Both with 5 x PIR, 1 X M/C . FM Tech with a SAB.

Secboy - went in under the Skilled Migrant category - they are crying out for alarms / CCTV / Access engineers over there. Went over in February, went for 3 interviews and came away with three offers. Once you have the job offer, it is not too difficult to get in.

Was your trade skill as security engineer or electrical qualifications and is there an age limit???
