Optima G3 attack flashing

Featured Replies

I have an optima G3 which I can nolonger set. If I enter the code the attack light flashes. (which I can reset)

If I press prog ready to enter the engineers code none of the lights come on. Normally you get a full set of eight. So I cant enter engineering mode.

All the normal day functions seem to work except those which need to enter program mode, ie chimes and tamper causing internal alarm. They all reset OK. And the code silences the tamper alarm.

Any ideas as to the problem.

I am about to try - resetting panel to factory set conditions - but before I do??

Before you do , reset your panic button.

Are you shure its the attack light flashing, i think you might find it is the tamper light flashing, if so this is a service feature that is a reminder to get yoursysem serviced.

No PMs please unless i know you or you are using this board with your proper name.

It is definately the attack light and I have put the link back in the attack terminals on the panel incase there is fault in its wiring.

Could be a Panel fault or it needs a panel default and reprogramme? - We cant talk you through that on a public forum though sorry.

Have you thought about posting your location, someone on here may be able to help you out and get the system serviced for you at the same time.

Dave.

The panel could be set up for engineer reset.

Fatal word "Serviced" whenever this is mentioned thats the last we see of the original person who started the post.

Thats the conclusion I have come to, just wanted to check I had not missed something obvious. I can understand why resets cannot be discussed. I will come back if I cant get the reset to happen.

Thank you for your help

Chris

Went for the power on reset. All is up and running again. Very useful to chat it through with you guys on line.

Thanks again

I took your advice and gave it a service. Sure enough it need a new battery so you probably saved me a fried board. Thanks again.

We have had the same problem with one of our customers. When he was trying to change the user code he pressed the wrong button.

I went out and reset the panel back to factory and re programmed. It has been working ever since.
