dpaengineer
Hi guys, I'm after a keyswitch. Needs to be ok for outdoor installation and pretty tamper-prrof. Any good suggestions? or even a place to get 1. CEF, AMCO, Maplin? fellas Trade Member

dpaengineer
Stand alone keyswitch or to replace an existing keyswitch in a panel 57965 Good Point. Its stand alone. Basically, going on the outside of a garage to eliminate entryexit times. Plus panel will be hidden as so it cant be smashed off wall. bri
CEF tend to be expensive. Try making your own, simple I.P 65 enclosure, 20mm hole cutter, etc. Any other local electrical wholesaler should beat CEF's prices. Bri
ian.cant
Gardiners do them ! Old fashioned shunt switches, alloy box with a keyswitch and tampered.
dpaengineer
Just seen This And This At Maplins. They both look ok to me, what u guys recon. How wounld be best to mount these. The unit will mount onto 2 inch thin=ck wood. I was thinking a small metal plate drilled through with small (ish) coach bolts. bri
Nice idea, always best to appear professional and technical though and follow the IEE Regs. All should be mechanically and electrically protected in a suitable enclosure. Even at low voltages wood is seen as a fire hazard.Unless youre talking about a door frame here??? you didnt specify? still should have an enclosure though whether it be architrave or otherwise. B) 57977 It'a an external wooden frame that a electronic roller shutter is mounted to. there is already 1 key on mounted on there for emergency release for door. Would be nice if this met regs. Trade Member
