Veritas R8 Problem

Featured Replies

<_<We moved house in November and inherited an already installed Veritas R8 with what looks like 2 PIR sensors - one upstairs and one down. Today, I set the alarm as normal, code number x 4 then Full....all ok at this stage. My wife returns home and enters the code but the alarm fires so she enters the code again x 4 then reset. It stopped but now with the tamper light permanently lit. Each time we try and set either part or full full nothing happens but an monotonous single tone dink...dink...dink. We don't have any manuals to refer to and was hoping some-one could offer some advice??

Subsequent to pressing as many buttons as I could think I took to the fuse box and powered the thing down completely. Upon replacing the fuse, after a short shock of electricity the alarm tried to set itself but again the tamper light appeared.

We haven't tinkered with any cables and don't appear to have any window trips...

If the tamper lights on there's a tamper fault. There's not much an end user can do at this point, you need an engineer.

Whereabouts are you? There is a fair chance there's an installer in your area on this forum.

probably stupid question, but have you tried pressing RESET twice?

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
