September 17, 200322 yr comment_2513 Hi lads,I now have 4 combined pir/mw detectors fitted to our house and the house ones are fine but the one in the garage gave a couple of false alarms the other week when it was very warm, its a Gardtec one with a 12mtr range ( about 2 months old ) and gave an alarm o/p to which I shortened the range of the m/w but it still gave another o/p the next day so I shortened the range even futher down which is working fine now,the question is why ? I am asuming that the pir was overloaded with the ambiant heat but what caused the m/w to trigger can you get false alarms with exteme heat ? September 17, 200322 yr comment_2516 B) Yes extream heat can make Duel tecs false alarm but I'm a little surprised that your garage gets that hot its normally places like conservitorys that get to hot for them. It might be an idea to swap one of the sensors with one from the house, If the one you move into the house starts to false alarm then its possible that you have a faulty unit, then take it back and get a new one. November 10, 200322 yr comment_4337 Please stop typing in capitals, it's bad netiquette. You'll find people consider it to be shouting. On the MW thing, always log the exact times that things happen as unknown false alarms can sometimes be contributed to something happening elsewhere. November 10, 200322 yr Author comment_4365 Hi Lads, just an update as the sensor is working fine now I have shortened the range on the M/W,I thought the I/R side would be affected by the extreme heat at the time but not the M/W so I will have to wait for another heatwave which with our weather could well be 5 years !!!!
