Alarm cabling

Featured Replies

Hi, I am aware that alarm cable shouldn't be run next to other cables, ie mains and lighting, but is this the same for other alarm cable?

Should each cable be run away from other alarm cables or doesn't it matter if they're run next to one another? What would happen if the cable was run next to each other, just out of interest?

Thank You.

If you mean different cables from the same alarm system, then there wouldn't be too much potential difference between them (as they are fed from the same source), therefore they wouldn't suffer from induction too much. Having said that, try to keep the keypad wiring seperate from the others because this cable normally contains a data pair which can suffer from any induced interference.
