Quality camera's?

Featured Replies

Hoping one of you guys can help?

I'm looking for some high quality externa,l static, camers with good image reproduction, to fit as part of a residential CCTV system.

I've not used a great amount of CCTV equipment in the past but for previous firms Ive installed such types as Vantage, Baxall and JVC etc?

My suppliers are tending to recommend Vantage but I wondered if you guys could give your opinions as they would be very much appreciated!!

As with all CCTV, you really need to take in to account what you want to see and the local conditions. Lots of other things effect the picture as well as the choice of camera, lighting levels, lenses selection and direction that the camera points are all important but that is by no means a complete list of considerations.

Anyway, Panasonic or JVC are the ones to go for as they tend to have a camera to suit all occaisions (and they are made by the same company!)

Thanks to all for your recommendations, to answer Richards question , yes I'm using external housings.

Its good to know what is tried and trusted amongst other installers.

I'll look into the Panasonic range and see what'll be most appropriate.

Thanks again for your help!!

Cameras I have used are;

JAI CV-S3200 Camera - Used for the last 2 years, very good cameras.

JVC / Panasonic

Computar (ganz badged small grey cams)

All flavours have had very few failures.
