Wireless Burglar Alarm

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have set a budget of £200 to buy a burglar alarm for my 3 bedroom house.

It seems that the only alarm I can afford within my budget is a wireless Alarm.

Can anyone recommend a good wireless alarm in UK?

I have come across Response, Yale, BT, TTS, AEI systems. Which one is recommended?

Thank you

I live in the area of Solihull near Birmingham.

You state that the systems I have mentioned above are not of very good quality, would you recommend other ones of better quality?

Thanks again

1st problem.....you need to increase your budget if you want a quality piece of kit installed, regardless of wether its wired or wireless.

If you want to trust your home to the equvalent of a Trabant in car terms fine, i suggest you increase the budget and go for the Corsa equivalent at least!

You need to consider a Scantronic wireless system minimum, some on here would say go for wired. A good way of thinking is a wireless system can be a good thing but a wired system can always be more flexible.

Either way take some free advice from a reputable local firm, most will provide free quotations and advice.

Its really difficult to put a figure on what you need to spend without seeing what your trying to protect if you see what i am saying.

Expect to pay a minimum of £300 for a basic system and i mean basic but a job done by a good installer with good kit. Anything above that should be realistic and unless you have a rather large house, then up to max of say £700.

By all means get a few quotes and we can help you decide which way you should go.

I agree with the other replies. I've serviced wireless systems and have found detectors not working and the clients not even aware, galaxy 8,16 won't let u down but if you need to install a wire free system i would also say go for scantronic panel but you sould go for hardwired, is it a new build?

Wireless are NOT alarm systems. So DO NOT get them installed for that purpose. On the other hand if you are a farmer you can use wireless as a fertilizer but even in that case you can get better quality stuff for better kg/£ ratio..

Not true!

Theyre are a few excellent wireless alarm systems, just not for £200's.
