NAPCO MA1008LK

Featured Replies

I have a NAPCO MA1008 panel and can't figure out how to make it work with normally closed detectors the manual shows all loops as at the end normally open except for the 2.2K resistor, and I don't see anything about programing for normaly closed loops, I have to admitt I don't understand the programing part very well.

What I want to do is connect 3 doors to the first 3 Zones and the door switchs I have are magnetic and normally closed.

If it makes any diffrence the unit has no optinal memory chip installed.

Here`s how to wire the detectors, you must use the EOL resistor.

The zones are wired so that if the door is closed there will be 2200 ohms resistance with a closed circuit and if open infinity resistance.

The drawing just shows the wiring methods for both N/O and N/C contacts.

Thank You Dave ! I see now how it works If N.C. contacts are used the resistor is in series with the device and if N.O. the resistor is in paralell. :D

Hopefully I'll catch on to the programing easier!

I think what confused me was that both situations were shown in one drawing with no explanaion of the series vs paralell uses of the resistor or what the system needed to see.

Thanks
