jetfitz
Hi, I have a wired alarm system based around an Avanti LC panel with a range of sensors and currently 2 keypads. I would like to add a third keypad so I can set the alarm from the garage door but I understand my system is now obsolete. Is there a suitable replacement for the MDT alarm keypad? or is it a case of replacing the panel and the keypads but retaining the sensors I have? Any help would be much appreciated James Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/43424-mdtavanti-keypad-alternative/ Share on other sites
datadiffusion
The best replacement would be something like a Scantronic 9651, Pyronix Euro Mini, or Texecom Premier type system. The cheapest would be the first 2, but all of them will work with your original wiring, bell and keypads - you will need 3 new keypads though. However, you might like to take the opportunity to add internet 'cloud' type connection to your system, which would be a big and useful upgrade. So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/43424-mdtavanti-keypad-alternative/#findComment-493412 Share on other sites
jetfitz
hi, thanks for the fast reply, if I wanted to add an internet connection to the system what would I need to do, I'm guessing that would be a different panel again? datadiffusion
Not quite, for Scantronic (AKA Eaton) would would need an I-On 40H (not just i-On 40) which is a very similar to the 9561 but much better, the Euro Mini I don't think supports it, the Texecom you need to add a SmartCom unit (I believe other members - they are not on board now are they?).
