I recently had a new door fitted to my garage but door contact does not reach the new location as it opens the other way so needs the cable extending. This now throws an open zone error when setting the alarm. How can this wire be extended to the new location and can I do this without causing a tamper alarm on the system?

if its wired correctly then no it will cause a tamper as you are 'tampering'
