Wireless Networking

Featured Replies

Hoping somone can help.

I have a Linksys WAP54G wireless access point connected to my p.c via LAN. My internet connection is ADSL through USB. I also have a Wi-Fi Pocket PC that I want to network.

My PC LAN connection IP is 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0 0.0.0.0

My Access Point IP is 192.168.0.10 255.255.255.0 (no gateway option)

My Pocket Pc IP is 192.168.0.20 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.1

I cannot connect my pocket pc to the internet or to my PC. Ping test gets no reply from 192.168.0.20 but fine on 192.168.0.10.

I had it working now and again with a wireless PCI card but too unreliable and wanted to network through the access point as it has better range.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong??!!

:blink::wacko::blink:

If you don't know......ask.

For starters you need to do this:

Put your access point on 192.168.0.1

Pur your PC on 192.168.0.2 (If your access point dosent give IPs out)

Put your PPC on 192.168.0.3 (If your access point dosent give IPs out)

On your PC and PPC, set the gateway to be: 192.168.0.1 if your access point dosent do this.

Im asuming your access point will also act as your internet router?

Thanks,

Warren
