Informa Speech Dialer - Limit Dial Attempts?

Featured Replies

Hello All,

I've wired an informa speech dialler to a GSM gateway. The dialler is programmed to dial a mobile number when triggered.

That part work well when the mobile is on, and a person answers it.

A problem arrises when the mobile is switched off, and automatically diverts to answerphone.

The dialler calls the mobile, leaves a message, waits for a DTMF signal that is never sent, hangs up, and tries again, and again, and again, until all the credit on the SIM is gone.

I don't see any way of limiting the dial attempts in the manual...

Any ideas?

Thanks,

OK,

Found the number for Informa technical support (08448000235 Opt2).

It's not possible to limit the dial attempts.

Aparently, that's by design.

The guy in India told me the dialler will try 7 times, but the last trigger left 10 voicemail messages before the credit ran out, so it's more than 7.

All you can therefore do, is turn off the automatic answer phone divert on the target number, or limit the credit on the SIM.

Give it a land line number then on one of the backup numbers.

No point using a number that may not be answered.

You may as well not have it in the above case.
