Guest steveb
Hi I hope this is the right group to post this enquiry. We have recently(3 weeks) moved into a house with an intruder alarm fitted but not active. We were surprised tonight coming home to see the strobe light flashing! The Abacus control panel indicated a supply problem but power, fuse all working ok. Managed to follow instruction book to reset alarm. Seemed to work (the contrl panel now says system off) but the strobe is still flashing. The instruction book says that the strobe will flash until the alarm is reset but we have reset the alarm? Any ideas? Thanks Steve Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/3165-reset-alarm-to-stop-strobe-flashing/ Share on other sites

Service Engineer
User Reset for Abacus Enter the user code to silence the Alarm. When display is as something like this [0712 03:46P ALARM] press the YES/PART key and display changes to the cause of an alarm for 2 seconds (5 seconds version 7000). (Press the YES/PART key twice for fast entry to log ........................................................ Service Engineer
Cause of Alarm was SupplyThis indicates that at somepoint the supply has failed.what is the PA push switch?A Panic Button, probably not what anything to do with your system, that was just an example. Are their any faults being displayed when you try to set the system..? ........................................................ My main concern is that after a while the alarm will go off. The system does say system off but I'm still worried. Paul P
This may not be the problem but we have had 6 Texicom Sounder that started to flash there strobes for no reason shortly after installation. You may need some one to check the external unit.
