I can't remember if I changed the alarm code that the previous owner gave me to something else. I have a vague feeling I might have and what it might be, but can't be sure. Now I'm scared to try either the original number or the one I think I might have changed it to in case I'm wrong on both counts. If they are wrong and the alarm goes off I won't know how to switch it off.

I'm wondering if there's a way to check by trying to reset it? If I follow the instructions to re set it and put in the code I think it is, will it give me some indication if it is wrong, ie, stop me proceeding, or the lights not showing etc, so that I know it is wrong, rather than just set it and hope for the best?

You get three tries after that you need an engineer, easiest way to find out is to try setting it
