Honeywell Galaxy Rs 232 Connection Help

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Could anyone help me with this.

I have purchased a USB to Serial converter as my laptop only has USB ports.

Honeywell (who don't move with the times) have no USB port so I have to connect with the RS232 port on board.

My USB to serial converter does not work. I have had 3 recommendations for converters but I would like to hear from someone who has actually got one working.

It worked great on my old laptop with on board comm port so its not the settings.

I have been fitting Galaxy for about 15 years now but this one has got me and the tech people never answer the phone.

Any help would be great.

Regards

DBS

I use a Keyspan USA19H unit, no problems. Not cheap but it works. Tip I found, make sure you use a low com port number.

There are alot out there that dont correctly communicate with certain devices. We use (Alpha Micro Components) Model: AMC223USB01 http://www.alphamicro.net/components/product~line~4~id~224.asp

It works perfectly with everything
