Oip Open Interface Protocol

Featured Replies

Following on from another topic here is some info on OIP.

I have attached a draft of the protocol

ALso i know GJD released product, and other manufacturers have indicated they are developing products, ie panels, dual path communicators, Sounders and detectors etc.

IMO this is the future of interconnects for our industry we have already reached IMO the limit of EOL. We already need 3 resistors on grade 3, next will be 4 and logging and diagnostics will become useless if this continues.

I like the idea of allowing programming and diagnostic info from OIP detectors via the panel and thus remote diagnosis / repair via UDL

OIP is in the downloads area here
