So I would use the main board and psu in the panel to run the PCB & Detectors & RKPS etc and prob one sounder strobe and the Smart PSU to run the other sounders and house a 2nd battery.

ID personally put more load on the smart psu (as its rated at 3A) and less on the panel. Remeber to size the batteries correctly.

I didnt know that the smart psu was bigger, makes perfect sense.

How do you size up the batteries then ?

work out the total current req then devide by the standby battery size, to give the estimated standby time

Regs are for pro's ... which I aint :-)

Are we talking passive draw or full active draw ?

Passive draw with all PIRS open is about 291mA without the keypads, PCB etc

Active draw is approx 1.4A

So 2 x 12v 7.2Ah batteries would provide 8.4Ah's nearly 29hrs of standby - is that right ?

both to be fair

i have released our calc program on here which can do battery sizing for EN regs. granted you dont need to comply to all the regs, but some you should. batteries are one IMO
