speech dialler/gsm module for galaxy 16

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I will be installing a fairly large domestic system and would like a speech dialler and an SMS incase of line fault/no reply, I am not overly confident of using a messaging centre for SMS.

Anyone had experience using the Texecom equipment?

Finally is the Galaxy as USER friendly as the Texacom Premier?

cheers

Paul

Howdy,

The galaxy and the texecom range are both user friendly.

I mainly use Galaxy stuff so I'm probably biased but we have very few problems with people not being able to use them correctly.

If the end user takes the time to READ the manual they probably wouldn't struggle to use either one of em.

can't comment on the texecom diallers though as i've not used them.

Hi,

You might like to consider our product SMShield. It will text you of activity (set/unset, alarm, mains fail, contact closure etc), and can be set up to dial you in case the network is text congested. It solely uses GSM so is not prone to line cut/blocking/tampering etc that normal land based ones are. It also does not need a contract (other than with a mobile network) to send a text message unlike some systems.

Whilst you were out, was someone else in?

The Texecom speech and text dialler is excellent - very easy to use and got some good features (eg the on screen Help is nice). You don't need any monthly contract to send texts through an existing phone line so it is a good cheap way of alarm reporting.

I personally think the Premier series is a lot more user friendly than the Galaxy.

What about an sd2 from menvier , that will do the same thing as the texecom.
