site alarm transmission

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Just a pointer in the right direction.

I mainly install the Menvier range, but have hit a wall with this project.

I look after a large site at which there is a mixture of panels, approx 70 in all.

There is currently a system in place which tranmits all the alarm signals via a home made plc over a 2 wire rs485 network. This plc has causes me a few problems recently and the client wishes to remove it and fit a current standard system.

I hoped I could have managed with the menvier range but the networks, even on the the ts2500 panels cannot manage the length of cable run.

One part of the network is approx 1000Mtrs and another is 2500Mtrs using a few rs485 repeaters.

Also the client wants a good pc recieving graphics package for the site.

I have briefly looked at using the galaxy system and found a few notes about its rs485 capabilities but my knowledge of these panels are limited.

Advice of which system would suit best is what I need.

Thanks in advance.

If more info is needed please ask.

Chris

Mids.

A good graphics package you cant go far wrong with Coretech. They have the protocalls for quite a few companies. If they dont have what you want they can do for a small price.

cheers Kev
