Sterling 10 (rins211-4)

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I hope someone may be able to give me some advise.

I have a Sterling 10 home alarm fitted and the other day I went to set the alarm for the front door but when I close the door and left the system

just kept beeping as if the door was still open, also there is now a alarm symbol on the display on left hand side next to the word Sterling.

Could it be that the sensor to the front door is faulty ?

Is there any way I can check if this is the case ?

Many thanks in advance for any help or advice

David

Hi,sounds like the door contact is stuck open-without getting too technical try knocking the contact(sometimes jarrs them into action) and then try setting the system.

Even if that works the contact will obviously still require changing.

Richard.

the sterline 10 bleeps every twenty seconds if the mains has being off, try pressing the func key followed by the number 2...

whebn the contact is open you should get the slower dull beep, then the higher pitched beep when the door is shut, if the bleeping is not changing to the higher pitched one then i would pretty confidently say the contact is faulty.

the alarm symbol you mention, if i remember correctly(havent fitted one of these for years) is a symbol of a bell and think it means that the chime is on (only zone 1 can chime).

(have you had a new front door fitted?) LOL, ive seen it before, is the magnet on the door.
