Just recently moved into a house with a Optima 2 plus system installed. When we power up, the alarm starts ringing. Does anyone know how I can reset the code.

This panel has a Non Volitile Memory so even if you power it down it will always remember the last customer code so you need to speak to the last owner for the code.

The battery is probably u/s so you would best change it but first thing to do is get

the user code to see if the system is working.

If you do get the code then

Press prog enter original code press 8 then enter new code then press reset reset. Remember not to get distracted when doing this or you will have to crash the panel to return it to factory settings.

Thnks for that. Tried it, didn't work. Think I 've tampered with it too much and set it into permenant alarm. How do I crash the system as youve said pls.

How do I proceed from here? I live in Cambs (PE19) Will I need to call out an engineer. What do you guys think.

Unfortunately, it does sound like an engineer job!

Thats done the trick.

All the zones are working and I,ve reset the acess code we can all remember. However the outside alarm is not working when the system is attacked. There was nothing connected to 40 /41. Is that why??

Shouldn`t 40/41 be the place where the backup battery is wired too..?

Is there a battery in the panel and is it connected..?

terminals39/40 are push to set, terminal41 set +VE latch, I think you need to check your bell wiring or bellbox ???
