Hi

my eurosec cpx has an rs485 with connectors labelled red, black, yellow and green.

can i connect this via rs232 to a pc to trigger an alert and what connects to what?

no you cant

for 2 reasons.

1 rs485 wont connect to an rs232 port, unless converted.

If you do convert you will need to listen to the traffic on the 485 line as the panel will not talk to your module.

and 2 the data on the 485 line is probably encrypted (is on a galaxy i have no expereince of risco) and they will not i expect release the protocol to you.
