Vision 360

Featured Replies

I have 4 x existing 360 vision domes on site and the telemetry is through the coax via a 360 matrix. I want to add a radio dome to the system. I have just found out 360 vision do their own 'built in' dome but I was hoping to use one I have in stock with the appropriate 'mel' video and data transmitters. I have ordered a new matrix which will allow me to select for each camera coax or 485 for the telemetry. I believe 360 vision use their own protocol? Is this correct? If so, I presume there is no way of adding my own dome to the system? Or does anyone know different? Thanks.

Hi Daubs,

We installed a site around 2 years ago all with 360 equipment and it has its own protocol.

The DVR failed after 15 months so we replaced it with a Dowschu unit that takes 360 protocol and you can mix and match.

What do you think of the domes....very flimsy imo but everything except the DVR ir good.

Yeah, in the past we have had trouble with their construction. There have been plastic bits which have melted resulting in the camera coming away from the housing and running around the dome cover like a hamster!! But... I need this radio camera adding to the system so it looks like i'm gonna have to buy their RF dome if the protocol is unique to the 360 (

If your thinking about sending the data via a radio link then this can only work with 485/422 serial telemetry not down the coax. I used 360 some years ago and its basically the old VCL so they have coax and 485 versions of domes, if 485 then you could reconfigure the wiring if this is practical, but your new dome will need the same protocol or it won't work

ve hav ze nolij or if not we ask!!!!

Yeah, as I thought. So I presume there is no chance of the VCL or any of the Pelco protocols working alongside the 360 vision protocol?

building block video may be able to help, they do protocol conversion
