WCCTV are doing the rounds again - their equipment basically uses the 3G mobile telephone network to monitor and control cameras remotely. I would like to hear some comments on this hardware please - how good is it? - quality and speed of downloads - monitoring costs etc. etc. Thanks in advance.

Alister.

Hi Alister,

Tbh iv had a look at their website and is it a domestic fit or commercial?

We have tested cheap to the most expensive wireless cameras on a site and the expensive ones worked the best but there was problems and went hardwired.

Weather like fog and rain can effect the signal.

If you gives us a bit more info on what you were planning please??

Thanks

P.S You dont support the pars?? lol

Thanks for the reply.

One of my customers, a local authority, have been approached directly by a WCCTV salesperson hoping to sell them their wireless dome systems which uses

mainly the 3G mobile phone network to be remotely monitored and controlled using the internet. They have asked me for advice on the system before they decide to go any further. - Good luck to the "Pars" for the new season by the way!

There's a trial in south Hants using Wcctv at the monent, as motorway cameras etc. Put onto traffic light poles on junctions and next to motorway bridges on the M27 and M3 - the domes look a bit like the pettards swift camera system, but with wcctv plastered all over them !.

Think it Hants highways that are doing it - although there was talk of wcctv doing it themselves as a 'demo' system to demo to other customers !!!.

If anybody wants to know how expensive the WCCTV cameras are double figures in thousands ..... message me and I'll give you a cheaper alternative.
