I'm a complete novice, and another naive "user" whne it comes to home alarm systems, but would appreciate any help you could give me.

I've inherited a 700L alarm system with the house, it would seem it hasn't been serviced since installation (Feb 1997), and I doubt if the battery has been changed either.

We recently had a power cut, which lasted for about a minute, since then I can't set the alarm from the control panel, I just get a constant beep when I press any keys - the beeping (sounds like the initial exit beep) stops after about 30 secs.

Any ideas ?

After reading through this and other forums, it did sound like a new battery and possible service was desperately needed...
