Remote Viewing Bandwidth Requirements

Featured Replies

Hi, maybe somebody would know of a good quality MPEG-4 DVR card with low bandwidth requirements for a full D1 remote viewing at 16 channels. Existing Internet bandwidth is just around 1.5 Mbps, our current ones cannot run under the setup. I have an existing issue with this one.

Suggestions will be most welcome.

Id suggest D1 remote was a waste, especailly at 16 channels, if you were to attempt real time then your gonna need 400 fps @ D1.

Also assuming its full screen you would need a 4 x 4 split for 16 way, and each image is 720 x 576 pixels so your gonna need as a minimum a screen with 2880 x 2304 pixels. If you go for cif then you would need 1440 x 960.

depends on your compression and codec used. if using h264 say then you could set it to a bitrate to match your bandwidth but once you take into accunt your contention you may not always achieve you maximum upstream bandwidth.
