July 16, 200817 yr comment_205002 Last question for the moment Each zone can be defined as a certain type - entry / alarm / PA / etc. etc. Each of these types has various associated options - exclude from partset A, double knock, chime etc etc. One such option is SOAK - what does this mean? It applies to all of the possible zone types. [the panel is a HKC SW812 - although I assume the meaning of the option is universal] Ken Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/24105-what-does-soak-mean/ Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 July 16, 200817 yr comment_205005 as angus states, used for checking a sensor has settled down in a harsh enviorment usually like movement of birds cats etc. if a 'soak' (also known as on test) detector trips all that happens is a note is made in the log and usually a 'soak test fail' message appears on the keypad in some format. if no problems then usually the zone is taken off test automatically after 14 days by the panel to save a return engineer trip to do so or the detector being left on soak indefinately by mistake. regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
