i had a power cut yesterday and now my alarm is dead with no power and I have no idea how to reactivate it. The control panel has a red light and the key pad has illuminated numbers but nothing else works. I have only been living here a few weeks and there is no manual. I have seen comments about batteries but have no idea how to locate these. And can't seem to have any switch. So can someone help me please?

Not good news

You could well be on the right track thinking battery but could be more wrong, who knows.

If you are unsure where the battery is in the system maybe getting someone local in to help may be safer especially if you do not know the alarms service history either :hmm:

Are you sure you want advice in how to change the battery by yourself 1st?

9 times out of ten, it'll be a flat battery on an Accenta 8. Know them like the back of my hand.......All is fine untill the power is lost..... When it powers back up it can spike the panel and lock it up. Will need powering down, fit new battery, silence, refit lid, then add mains. Should then be ok. If in any doubt, consult nearest approved installer

OP has not replied to my question nor appears to be too confident so best not to advise doing anything that may cause injury to self or system IMO.
