New Office Alarm

Featured Replies

I just aquired a new office with an alarm system i believe to be a Galaxy 60, what i would like to know is this:

1- the system has no User manual, can i get one?

2- this system used to belong to a firm that cannot provide manufacturer, neither has contracts for maintenance...

3- i have no codes

4- some sensors have been removed therefore system is in "Intruder" mode

5- what can be done to avoid this system from being "scrapped"?

If anyone can assist me in any way i would appreciate it. Thank you

Yes looks like a gal 60. If it has been well maintained should still be a servisable panel. If you contact a local installer he should be able to get it up and running again. If some detectors have been removed these should be replaced. The panel is made by honeywell now.

I was thinking of redoing the system myself... there are no local installers that will touch this system. All locals want to to put in a newer system. If there are no other solutions other than installers i guess this system is going to scrap.

Thanx.

If you can't get a local installer to takeover a Galaxy 60 control panel system, go further afield.

The Galaxy panel is one of the best on the market, so if they can't sort it out you need a decent company, try one of the 'smaller' nationals, they will all have engineers covering your area.

A quote will cost you nothing, perhaps a cup of tea though.

By the way, here is a Galaxy 60 User manual, can't give you the Engineer manual though, Site Rules.

Good luck, let us know what you do.

Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care.

Grateful anyway i guess this one is destined for the trash...

In your circumstances definitely seems like the best idea.

if you pay me to come over, i will make it work. might take about a fortnight to get it working though
