Galaxy G2 44 Sms Problem

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I've installed a Galaxy G2 44 panel and for the first time added the GSM module. There is no land line available and the only required comms is text message.

I am using an o2 pay-as-you-go sim card topped up with

There have been reports of issues with the GSM module - have you got a test phone to listen in when it dials out?

I have experienced occasional problems when the Control Center doesn't appear to answer - I always use the 9889 number.

Have you tried putting the simcard into a phone? Pin request may be turned on, if so deactivate it and try again.

I once had this problem with a Texecom GSM unit.

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

Thanks guys,

I havn't tried connecting a test phone as I didn't know this was an option. I assume you plug into the 'Alternative phone socket"? I'd be greatful I you would let me know what I should hear (ie data tones etc).

I have called out from this sim card in a mobile phone and it worked fine.

Also, I think I may have been wrong in thinking that the menu option 61 shows the network signal strength. The book indicates that it is the communication between the GSM module and the panel in which case I can't understand why it is only 50%.

Your help is appreciated.

Regards,

Malcolm
