Lectrician Posted March 20, 2008 Share Posted March 20, 2008 Sounds like a miss wire to me. Standard two wire phones like your converse ones use A/B pair connected to 2/5 of a PABX master socket. Featurephones require the data pair too (C/D), which are connected to terminals 1/6 of either a PABX master or secondary socket (former preferably to allow SLT phones to also be used).
