chasnew Posted January 15, 2008 Share Posted January 15, 2008 optima xm6 , all functions working ok. the audible sounds on the keypad changed, a week later we were getting bleeps from the siren in exit mode,now we are geeting quite loud duck like sounds from the siren in standby mode.we have now switched the alarm off.i would appreciate any help.thanks charley. This could be the problem and these units lose their memory and go haywire if not serviced. ! Alarm Protection Posted January 15, 2008 Share Posted January 15, 2008 You should get an engineer in to sort this problem as he would be able to check the back up battery voltage etc as these panels have a tendency to blow the back up circuit so when the power is turned of then the battery will not take the job on! Betteries should be replaced every 3-5 years depending on where the panel is so you maybe lucky but i doubt it. Get an engineer in but get 3 prices first then decide who you want cos the cheapest is'nt always the best! Willie !
