moved to house and got Optima XM6 alarm which we cant use. I have moved in about three months ago and there is an alarm fitted to the house but I cannot use it as the previous owner has not got the alarm code number. Is there any way that I re set the system and change the code to one that I can use? The alarm is sitting there redundant and I would be very grateful if anybody could advise me. Many thanks, Doug.

Local enginner could do that for you.

Are you sure about the model? There was an XM, or and XL6, but I've not seen an XM6. Confirm which model it is, and we can give you some pointers...

XM6 is basically the same as XM ...only with 6 zones.

XM6 is basically the same as XM ...only with 6 zones.

Ah - thanks! Seen loads of 4-zone XMs but never a 6.

The reset method for XMs is documented in the XM engineers manual
