January 9, 200818 yr comment_187904 Probably a naive question from a beginner but can I send the 12volt power supply through cat 5 as well as the video signal? Will this affect the picture or (on a comparatively short run) is it better to use the coax with a separate power cable? I know that baluns will be necessary with utp. I know that baluns will be necessary with utp. if its a long run, local supply. if less then 100m should be fine. as far as signal ect. but make sure your psu has enough ummph Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/21851-power-over-cat-utp/#findComment-187967 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
