Hi everybody,

I have a Citadel XR2 panel(rebadged Optima compact on behalf of Senate electrical). I have 2 RKP's. When i turn mains power off, all lights vanish and alarm sounder (inside and outside) does not go off. If i then put mains power back on, the alarm goes off? I gather the battery is knackered (5 years old) but when mains switched off, shouldnt it alarm??

Hello, The external sounder should activate when it looses the power from the alarm panel. So the external sounders battery is knackered or not connected. If it’s just the panels internal sounder you have. That will not work when the mains is off since the alarm panels backup battery is knackered.

I would recommend getting an engineer in to fix the faults and to check the alarm is working ok.
